Description
Tartans have held a significant place in my family's traditions for generations. As a native of South India, I've grown up seeing the men in my family don tartan-patterned dhotis, which are traditional loincloths worn by Hindu men. Drawing inspiration from these cherished tartan prints, I decided to create my own interpretation. Using deadstock yarns, I meticulously crafted a unique bodysuit that pays homage to this familial legacy. To complement the bodysuit, I designed a skirt and a top, repurposing pre-loved jumpers and incorporating intricate block printing techniques. This project not only honors my heritage but also embraces sustainable fashion practices.
